Photoshop Basics Unit 08 - Filters and Effects

I began with a self-portrait of Vincent Van Gogh.

This is the same scan that I used in Unit 7.

I dragged Vincent into the original garden image and used the filter, "Paint Daubs" on the garden. I also changed the hue saturation and levels. I masked the Van Gogh image and used the burn tool to darken the area around Vincent’s shoulders.

I added a gradient background. Then I used the filter, "Twirl" to change the direction of the brush strokes.

I used the filter, "Neon Edges" on the garden and the filter, "Cross Hatch" on Vincent. I kept the transformations from the previous image with the "Paint Daub" filter.

I used the original image in Unit 5 and applied a "Find Edges" filter and then adjusted the levels.
